Massachusetts House budget plan has $738M for transit agencies
The proposal has about $555 million for the MBTA and $184 million for the state’s 15 regional transit authorities, according to a preview provided by the office of House Speaker Ronald Mariano.
Neither the House’s proposal nor the governor’s proposal released earlier this year provide enough funding to close the MBTA’s projected $628 million operating budget gap for the fiscal year that begins in July.
