Strafford County, N.H., commissioners challenge newly drawn districts
While the three Democratic plaintiffs allege the GOP-controlled legislature violated the New Hampshire Constitution by “redistricting” twice, proponents of the 2023 change contend they were merely “districting.”
Lawmakers narrowly passed House Bill 75 over Democrats’ objections, and Governor Chris Sununu signed it, so state law now specifies that one Strafford County commissioner will be elected from each of the three newly drawn districts.
