River raft guides form rescue crews after Hurricane Helene
Whitewater rafting crews in Tennessee and North Carolina have spent recent weeks pivoting from recreation to emergency response following two deadly hurricanes.
Hampton, an experienced river guide and volunteer firefighter, said he’d never done rescues in floodwaters this dangerous before.
