Shuntaro Tanikawa, who moved Japanese poetry beyond haiku, dies at 92
The celebrated poet, who stunned the literary world with his 1952 debut “Two Billion Light Years of Solitude,” also translated the “Peanuts” comic strip, Mother Goose and Maurice Sendak.
